3 Meqabyan 5:1-16

1Know the Lord who created you; as He created you in His Features and Example while you are on Earth, do not forget the Lord who established you, saved you, and whom Israel glorified.

2When you broke His Command, He sent you away from the Garden toward this world - which He cursed because of you - that grows nettles and thorns.

3For you are Earth, and she the ground is Earth; you are dust, and she is dust; you are soil, and she is soil. You are fed by the grain found from her, and you will return to her.

4Know what you will answer Him at that time. Think of the good and evil you did in this world; examine whether the evil or the good would abound.

5If you do good, it is a good thing for you, so that you might be joyful on the day when the dead arise.

6But if you do evil, woe to you! For you will receive hardship according to the work of your hands and the evil of your reasoning.

7And if you betray your companion, and if you call on the Lord's Name and swear a lie - woe to you.

8You tell lies to your companion, pretending they are the Truth, even though you know you spoke a lie.

9You persuade those around you with your falsehoods as if they were the Truth, multiplying things that are not true.

10When you say I will give in your pure reasoning, demons make use of you like dogs; they make you forget everything.

11And again, as it has been said: Adam's lying children make a false balance. As for them, they go from robbery to robbery.

12O people, do not place your hope in distorted scales and balances, in stealing another's money, in taking money through transgression.

13If you do this, you will receive your hardship according to your work.

14O people, be fed by the honest work of your hands; do not desire robbery.

15Even if you eat it, it will not satisfy you. When you die, you will leave it for another.

16And if your money increases, do not let it distort your reasoning. As the money of sinners is like smoke from a griddle that the wind takes away, the small amount of money accumulated in Truth is better than the wealth of sinners.
