Assumption of Moses 8:1-5

¹And there will come upon them a second visitation and wrath—such as has not befallen them from the beginning—in which he will stir up against them the king of kings of the earth.

²And that king will reign, and rulers will be appointed by him who will be worse than the first.

³After them a presumptuous and insolent king will arise who will not be of priestly descent. He will rule over them as they deserve.

⁴And he will burn their city, and he will put their chief priests to death by the sword; and he will carry away their nation.

⁵And he will compel them to forsake the circumcision of their children and all the ordinances of the law.
