Today's verse comes from the Book of Leviticus. A man brings a flawless bull to the tabernacle entrance to settle a debt with God. He presses his hand onto the animal's head, transferring his identity to the substitute before slaughter.
A man leads a bull to the entrance of the tabernacle. He places his hand on the head of the live animal. He presses down, leaning his weight onto the beast. The contact links the man to the bull. He draws a knife and cuts the throat of the animal. Priests catch the blood in bowls and carry it to the bronze altar. They splash the blood against the altar's sides. The man strips the hide from the carcass and hacks the meat into pieces. Priests arrange the parts on burning wood. The animal bears the man's identity as it burns to ash.
