The recipient does not gain wisdom - they gain the raw weight of inevitability, which is a different and far more dangerous thing.

The transmutation of all metals into gold is the capacity to impose a single terminal value onto any material regardless of its origin or nature. Alchemically, gold represents incorruptibility - the endpoint state that other metals are understood to be reaching imperfectly.
