1 Enoch 32:1-6

¹And after these fragrances, as I gazed toward the north over the mountains, I saw seven mountains filled with fine nard and fragrant trees, and cinnamon and pepper.

²And from there I went over the summits of those mountains, far toward the east, and I passed over the Erythraean Sea and went far from it, and I passed over the angel Zotiel.

³And I came to the Garden of Righteousness, and I saw beyond those trees many great trees growing there, sweet of fragrance, great, glorious, and splendid—and the tree of wisdom, of which those who eat know great wisdom.

⁴It resembles the carob tree, and its fruit is like the cluster of the vine, exceedingly beautiful; and the fragrance of that tree travels and reaches far.

⁵And I said, "How beautiful is this tree, and how lovely and delightful is its appearance!"

⁶And the holy angel Raphael, who was with me, answered and said to me, "This is the tree of wisdom, from which your father of old and your aged mother, who were before you, ate and came to know wisdom; and their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they were driven out of the garden."
