Enoch 82:1-20
And now, my son Methuselah, all these things I am recounting to you and writing down for you; I have revealed everything to you and have given you the books concerning all these matters. Keep, my son Methuselah, the books from the hand of your father, that you may deliver them to the generations of the world.
Wisdom I have given to you, and to your children, and to those who shall be your sons, so that they may give it to their children for generations forever—this wisdom that is upon their understanding.
And those who comprehend it shall not sleep, but shall listen with their ears, so that they may learn this wisdom; and it shall please those who eat of it more than choice food.
Blessed are all the righteous; blessed are all who walk in the way of righteousness, and have no sin like the sinners, in the reckoning of all their days, when the sun journeys in heaven, entering and departing through the portals for thirty days, together with the chiefs of the thousands of the order of the stars, together with the four which are intercalated and which divide between the four seasons of the year, which lead them, and with which four days enter.
Concerning them men go astray, and do not reckon them in the reckoning of the whole world; for men err concerning them, and do not know them accurately.
For they belong to the reckoning of the year, and are indeed fixed forever: one in the first portal, and one in the third, and one in the fourth, and one in the sixth; and the year is completed in three hundred and sixty-four days.
And true is the account thereof, and accurate is the recorded reckoning; for the luminaries, and the months, and the feasts, and the years, and the days—Uriel showed to me and breathed upon me, he whom the Lord of all the creation of the world has set over me by the host of heaven.
And he has authority over night and day in heaven, so that he may cause light to shine upon men: the sun and the moon and the stars and all the powers of heaven that revolve in their orbits.
And this is the order of the stars which set in their places, and in their seasons, and in their festivals, and in their months.
And these are the names of those who lead them, who keep watch that they enter in their seasons, and in their orders, and in their times, and in their months, and in their dominions, and in their stations.
Their four leaders who distinguish the four parts of the year enter first; and after them the twelve leaders of the orders, who divide the months and the year into three hundred and sixty-four, with the chiefs of thousands who separate between the days, and for the four which are intercalated over them, these being the leaders who divide the four parts of the year.
And these chiefs of thousands are between leader and led; one is added behind the station, and their leaders make the division.
And these are the names of the leaders who divide the four parts of the year which are appointed: Milkiel, and Helemmelek, and Melejal, and Narel.
And the names of those who lead them are Adnarel, and Iyasusael, and Iylumiel. These three follow behind the leaders of the orders, and one follows behind the three leaders of the orders, who follow behind those leaders of the stations who divide the four parts of the year.
At the beginning of the year Melkiel rises first and rules—he whose name is called the Southern Sun—and all the days of his dominion during which he rules are ninety-one days.
And these are the signs of the days which shall appear upon the earth in the days of his dominion: sweat, and heat, and sorrow; and all the trees bring forth fruit, and the leaf comes forth on every tree, and the harvest of wheat, and the rose-blossoms, and all the flowers blossom in the field, and the trees of winter grow dry.
And these are the names of the leaders who are under them: Berkael, Zelebsael, and another who is added as a chief of a thousand, whose name is Heloyasef; and the days of his dominion are completed.
The next leader after them is Helemmelek, whom they call the Bright Sun, and all the days of his light are ninety-one days.
And these are the signs of the days upon the earth: glowing heat and dryness; and the trees bring forth their fruits ripened and cooked, and give their fruit ready and dry; and the sheep couple and conceive; and men gather in all the fruit of the earth, and all that is in the fields, and the winepress—and this comes to pass in the days of his dominion.
And these are their names, and their orders, and their leaders who are under them—these chiefs of thousands: Gedael, and Keel, and Heel; and the name of him who is added to them as chief of a thousand is Asfael; and the days of his dominion are completed.
