Assumption of Moses 3:1-14

And so you shall cross over the Jordan and shall lead the people into the land which I have given them.

And all the things which I have told them shall come upon them; the curses of the covenant shall come upon them.

And they will turn aside from the covenant in those days; they will forsake the commandments of the Lord.

And they will build the sanctuary of the Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob; the temple of the Lord shall be given over to the rulers, and the sacrifices shall be corrupted.

For some of the rulers, when they are heard, shall offer many sacrifices, and their hands shall work abominations.

And their teachers shall be partial in judgment, and their judges shall accept bribes, and they shall commit impurity at the command of the king.

The rulers shall say to their leaders: Do not depart from our side, for we shall be made rich through you.

For they shall be like men who do not fear God, but judge as they please. And they shall be carried away into captivity in a foreign land.

And their land shall be overrun by enemies for a time; they shall be scattered among the nations in disgrace.

And two tribes shall be divided from the ten tribes; they shall be led away into the land of the east.

The ten tribes shall be led away from the land into captivity and shall dwell among the nations.

But the two tribes shall keep to their faith, though they shall be sorrowful and lamenting, because they cannot offer sacrifices to the Lord of their fathers.

And the ten tribes shall increase and multiply among the Gentiles during the time of their captivity.

And they shall leave their children behind them in foreign lands as strangers.
