Assumption of Moses 4:1-9

Then, when they have become ashamed in those times, a man will arise among them who will restore them to the land of their fathers.

He will intercede for them, and the Lord will hear him; and he will show compassion on them and lead them back.

They will enter the holy land and will weep together in sorrow and will offer expiations.

But the two tribes will not be able to offer burnt offerings to the Lord; instead, their eyes will be turned toward the east, and they will wait for the Lord.

Then certain men will be found who will act according to the law of the Lord; they will pray and will entreat the Lord with supplication.

And the high priests then will be guilty of great wickedness; they will desecrate the holy things.

The sons of Levi will sin, and the sons of Aaron will exalt themselves; and they will seek their own enrichment rather than the glory of God.

They will devour the good things of the Lord; they will steal from the poor and afflict the orphan.

They will be altogether impious, full of wickedness and iniquity, from the rising of the sun to its setting.
