Enoch 102:1-11

Enoch warns sinners of God's coming judgment and fiery punishment while exhorting the righteous to remain faithful despite earthly suffering and death...

In those days, when he hurls the harsh fire upon you, where will you flee, and where will you find deliverance? And when he utters his word against you, will you not be shaken and afraid?

And all the luminaries shall be shaken with great fear, and all the earth shall be shaken and tremble and quake.

And all the sons of God shall carry out their command, and shall seek to hide themselves from before the Great Glory; and the children of earth shall tremble and be shaken. And you, sinners, are cursed forever, and there shall be no peace for you.

Fear not, O souls of the righteous, and wait in hope for the day of your death in righteousness.

And do not grieve because your soul has descended into great tribulation and lamentation and affliction, and into Sheol in sorrow, and because your body did not receive in your lifetime according to your goodness; but rather, because of the day in which you were sinners, and the day of cursing and chastisement.

And when you die, the sinners shall say concerning you: 'As we die, so also have the righteous died — and what profit did they gain from their deeds?

Behold, like us they have died in sorrow and in darkness, and what advantage do they have over us? From now on we are equal.

And what shall they receive, and what shall they see forever? For behold, they too have died, and from henceforth they shall never again see the light.'

I say to you, sinners: you are satisfied with eating and drinking, and with stripping men bare, and with plunder and sin, and with acquiring wealth, and with seeing good days.

Have you seen the righteous, how their end was peace? For no violence was found upon them until the day of their death.

Yet they perished and became as though they had not been, and their souls descended into Sheol in tribulation.
