Enoch 74:1-17
And I saw another course and law for it, by which law it carries out its course of the months.
And all this Uriel, the holy angel who is the leader of them all, showed me; and I wrote down their positions as he showed me, and I wrote down their months as they are, and the appearance of their light until fifteen days were completed.
In single seven-sevenths it completes all its light in the east, and in single seven-sevenths it completes all its darkness in the west.
And in certain months it alters its settings, and in certain months it follows its own course, each one.
And in two months it sets with the sun, in those two gates which are in the middle — the third and fourth gates.
It goes forth for seven days and turns and comes back again through the gate by which the sun goes forth; and in that gate it completes all its light, and it departs from the sun, and it enters in eight days by the sixth gate from which the sun goes forth.
And when the sun goes forth from the fourth gate, it (the moon) goes forth for seven days, until it goes forth from the fifth; and again it returns for seven days to the fourth gate, and it completes all its light, and it wanes and enters by the first gate in eight days.
And again it returns for seven days to the fourth gate from which the sun goes forth.
Thus I saw their stations, how according to the fixed order of their months the sun rises and sets.
And in those days, when five years are added, there accrue to the sun thirty days, and all the days which come to it for one year from those five years, when filled up, amount to three hundred and sixty-four days.
And the reckoning of the sun and the stars comes to six days — from the five years, six days to each — so that there come to them thirty days; and the moon falls behind the sun and the stars by thirty days.
And the moon brings all the years about exactly, so that their stations never shift, neither advancing nor delaying by a single day, but they change the year with precision in three hundred and sixty-four days.
In three years the days are one thousand and ninety-two, and in five years eighteen hundred and twenty days, so that for eight years there are two thousand nine hundred and twelve days.
For the moon alone, its days in three years are one thousand and sixty-two, and in five years it falls short by fifty days, because to its total there is added eight and two days.
And it becomes for five years seventeen hundred and seventy days, so that the moon's days for eight years are two thousand eight hundred and thirty-two days.
For the deficiency in eight years is eighty days, and all the days by which it falls short in eight years are eighty.
And the year is completed truly according to their stations and the station of the sun, which rise from the gates from which it rises and sets for thirty days.
